Vocal Lessons with Jeannie Deva: Strength & Stamina

Vocal stamina refers to being able to sing for a long period of time, literally singing hours without losing your voice. This can only happen with the proper vocal training. Much like how a long distance runner acquires stamina to run for long periods of time, it requires conditioning.

Getting comfortable with having just the right amount of air naturally sent by your automated diaphragm to the vocal folds is the first big step in acquiring strength and stamina. You want to find the right energy balance, which will come easier the more you practice.

Strength and stamina in your voice requires good vibration of your vocal folds, and balance of the sound energy that’s in your mouth, head, and body.

As you work on the creating that energy balance, your voice will have a bigger, more flexible, more powerful range. Combining strength and stamina with style, and you have raw ingredients to be a creative vocal artist not restricted by anything!
