End of May and June really rocked…. quite busy for the Ol' Perfesser.
Starting with an appearance of Darol's all-star band Anger & The Furies at the amazing Delfest,
Darol managed a really fun Fiddle Workshop there also, featuring Brittany Haas ( a Fury and no stranger to these pages), and the leader of the phenomenal Bluegrass group Della Mae and 2-time Grand National Fiddle Champion Kimber Ludiker. We connected with a couple of School Of Fiddle stalwarts there also before moving on to the beautiful and exremely fun Live Oak Fiddle Camp, created by Fiddle School Star Student Heidi Labensart!
A small camp for advanced players, Darol taught for 3 intense days with Brittany Haas and the incredible Christian Howes, who also has a high-level Jazz Violin online school. Again, I was able to meet in person a Fiddle Shcool Student (we are everywhere!) Marie Bullfinch.
Couple of weeks of rehearsals, school clinics and preparation for the next phase: Mark O'Connor's mammoth Fiddle Conference at Berklee College in Massachussetts at the end of this month! The on to The Indiana Fiddlers' Gathering… I hope to see some more folks from our School in both those places!
