Last week, shred guitar legend and ArtistWorks rock guitar instructor, Paul Gilbert, released his second full-length album of 2021, ‘TWAS. Unlike Paul’s previous record, Werewolves of Portland, which debuted this past June, ‘TWAS features a collection of classic holiday tunes each arranged in the guitar-centric, shred-packed, and light-hearted style that is uniquely Paul’s.
Martin’s Covid Update
Many thanks for your very kind 'Get Well Soon' messages. They gave me a real boost during these difficult couple of weeks.
The good news is I'm now out of the 10 Days Self-Isolation period, and have tested NEGATIVE for Covid.
The not so good news is that it's left me very weak and I'm tired most to the time. It's going to take a while for me to shake this off.
I managed to take a short walk yesterday with Ted (see photo) so feel I'm definitely on the mend.
I was hoping to film a new Home Message today and film a couple of video responses, but I lost my voice and can only make coughing noises!
Once my voice is back I'll be in the studio again.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. -Martin... and Ted xx

Bluegrass Guitar Lesson: The Boom Chuck Style & Sound with Bryan Sutton
As bluegrass guitar players, it is critical that we not only be able to perform single-note melodies, improvise, and occasionally step into the spotlight as soloists, but that we’re able to provide a harmonic and rhythmic foundation and support the rest of the ensemble through our rhythm guitar playing. In fact, in many cases, having a firm grasp of our rhythm guitar techniques can be more important than our single-note performance skills. As such, players of all skill levels should continuously practice and focus on improving their rhythm guitar playing.

The Quiet American is husband and wife duo, Aaron and Nicole Keim. In Hood River, OR, they live an artistic life, making music, building musical instruments, writing books, crafting folk art and raising their 7 year old son Henry. Their connection to folk tradition is undeniable, even as they find new ways to sing old songs and unique ways to incorporate music and art into their teaching and performing. Mainly influenced by Depression era string band music and the folk revival, they use ukulele, banjo and accordion to accompany their harmony singing, pick old time tunes and lead the audience through group singing. A modern, home grown folk revival: The Quiet American.
